Todd Berry, b. 1962

FIne Art

Todd has been making art since childhood. He graduated from Wright State University with a BFA in Drawing. Since graduating in 1985, his passion has leaned toward painting, primarily abstract, as an exploration of color and the expressiveness of marks on the canvas. He is inspired by the works of Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Paul Klee, Jackson Pollack, Franz Kline, Jim Dine, Chuck Close, Anselm Kiefer, and Wim Botha.

More recently, Todd has been exploring the iPad and the numerous apps that mimic traditional painting and drawing textures and marks. The digital experience allows him to explore composition and color combinations anywhere, anytime. Once he settles on a sketch digitally, he then transfers the concept to more traditional tools.

His canvases range from small to very large. His largest to date measures 84 in. x 50 in. He primarily works with watercolors, acrylics, oils, and charcoal.
